- The problem is that it NEVER falls back to connect. It will either
- connect without compression at 28.8 or reset itself. To prevent
- this I have to manually disable the higher symbol rates on less
- than perfect connections.

- I suspect that USR only tests it's modems on perfect lines connecting
- with other USR products.
